Energy Assistance Program Notice
August 19, 2022
During the pandemic, the Energy Assistance Program (EAP) received supplemental COVID funding. Beginning October 1, 2022, EAP’s funding will be lowered to pre-COVID levels. In response, the Minnesota Department of Commerce has rolled back the program’s income eligibility guidelines and we expect EAP grant amounts will also be lowered to pre-COVID amounts (lower than previous assistance year). This may result in some households now being over-income for the program. Please be aware of current guidelines when applying for Energy Assistance.
