Ojoye Akane is an Emerging Markets Officer for Three Rivers Community Action’s Achieve Homeownership program, which encourages and supports homeownership among diverse populations throughout southern Minnesota.  He joined Three Rivers in 2016 and works with community organizations, business leaders and cultural groups to expand homeownership opportunities throughout the region, with a particular interest in increasing homeownership among immigrant populations. Ojoye provides financial coaching, homeownership counseling, financial literacy and homebuyer education classes in English and multiple African languages.  He is certified in homebuyer counseling by the Minnesota Homeownership Center and in financial capability coaching by the NeighborWorks Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling. He also has certifications in interpreting from Insight Language Resources. Ojoye has both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He is a board member of African Asian Refugee Services Agency, Anyuak Community Association in North America and Faith African Ministry.  Previously he was an Austin Human Rights Commission member and Boy Scout Leader. Ojoye likes to mentor and guide young people.
