3/21/19 Communications & Customer Service Specialist (Dispatcher) – Hiawathaland Transit

Starting rate is $15.00-16.00/hour depending on qualifications. Extra $1.25/hour on weekends and after 6:00pm Monday-Friday.
In a team atmosphere, the Communications & Customer Service Specialist (CCSS) communicates with customers; schedules, dispatches and communicates with bus operators to help people of all ages and abilities get safely to places in and around their communities such as school, work or clinic; and completes documentation and other administrative responsibilities. Weekend shift required every 2-3 months. Qualifications:
  • One year of professional office experience with the demonstrated ability to:

  • Exceptional, courteous and effective communication skills with a commitment to outstanding customer service

3/15/19 Long Term Substitute Teacher: Infant/Toddler Center - Northfield

Overview of Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Assures a safe, secure and nurturing environment for children within the program.
  • Uses and provides guidance for parents, children and staff on effective and developmentally discipline techniques.
  • Plans and implements developmentally appropriate learning environment and curriculum by combining activities that promote intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development in a manner that is appropriate for the children’s age and development.
  • Supports, encourages and advocates for families.
  • Welcomes parents and provides direction for activities.
  • Assures open communication with parents regarding child’s participation within the program.

This is a limited term full time (40 hours per week) position to cover for a leave of absence that is anticipated to end approximately early June 2019. No benefits.

Qualifications:

  • AA degree in Child Development / Early Childhood or Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. 
  • Certification in sudden unexpected infant death (SUID) and abusive head trauma (AHT). 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Prefer bilingual skills in English/Spanish.
  • Able to lift up to 70 pounds – 50 pounds frequently.

3/12/19 Infant Toddler Classroom Aide

Do you enjoy interacting with infants/toddlers in a classroom setting; staying alert to safety hazards; using positive reinforcement and redirection; assisting children in learning; and supporting and advocating for children and families with respect and confidentiality? If so, this may be a great position for you! The Classroom Aide will assist the Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, assessment and activities for children and families.

This is a part time position: 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, schedule may fluctuate.

2/26/19 Part Time Transit Operators or Operators-in-Training – Hiawathaland Transit

** Various Shifts in Faribault, Northfield, Lonsdale, Winona & Red Wing **

Starting rate is $17.50/hour if individual has CDL with Passenger Endorsement; otherwise, starting rate is $16.50/hour. Extra $1.25/hour on weekends and after 6:00pm Monday-Friday.

Transit Operators (bus drivers) help people of all ages and abilities get safely to places in and around their communities: school, work, grocery store, doctor’s office, pharmacy, library, etc.

  • Safely operate and maintain transit vehicle, following all traffic laws and Federal/State regulations for commercial motor vehicles

  • 1.5+ years of professional driving experience preferred
  • Prefer Class C Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement (must be obtained within three months of employment); if no CDL, Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) must be obtained prior to first day of employment

TRANSIT OPERATOR-IN-TRAINING: Applicants without Class C CDL, Passenger Endorsement and 1.5+ years of professional driving experience will be hired as TRANSIT OPERATOR-IN-TRAINING. Once hired, employee will need to obtain Class C CDL & Passenger Endorsement, complete required training, demonstrate safe & proficient skills, and be deemed competent in order to be promoted to TRANSIT OPERATOR position. Failure to be qualified for promotion in approximately 90 days will result in termination of employment.

  • Current DOT Medical Examiners Certificate (“Med Card”) must be obtained prior to first day

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

10/29/18 Coordinated Entry Navigator

Deadline: November 14, 2018 or until filled.  Hiring Range:  $12.50-16.00, Full Time, Non-exempt. Three Rivers Community Action, Inc., a private non-profit corporation located in Zumbrota, Minnesota, is currently seeking a Coordinated Entry Navigator. The Coordinated Entry Navigator is part of the Continuum of Care team, which supports a broad multi-agency response system for people experiencing homelessness/housing crises. The Coordinated Entry Navigator will play a key role in creative problem-solving to help individuals and families access or maintain housing.  Primary activities include:

  • Developing and maintaining working knowledge of housing, employment, and services programs in the region

  • Speaking to clients to understand assets and needs to resolve housing crises and identify potential solutions

  • Helping clients collect documentation of eligibility and prepare applications for housing, employment, or services

  • Making warm referrals for mainstream and community-based services before or after finding housing

  • Recording all referral activities and outcomes in the Homeless Management Information System (database)

  • Working with Coordinated Entry and Continuum of Care staff to continually improve referral processes and outcomes

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience with case management/service coordination or nonprofit customer service/intake, preferably with programs serving people experiencing homelessness (Associate’s degree/ some college in a related field may be accepted in lieu of experience)

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or other common language in service area preferred
