Hiawathaland Transit currently operates public transit in the counties of Goodhue and Wabasha, specifically in the communities of Cannon Falls, Randolph, Red Wing, Lake City, Frontenac, Plainview, Elgin, Wabasha, Kellogg, Mazeppa, and Zumbrota.

The bus is available to everyone for any reason. Individuals of all ages may ride the transit bus to go to places such as the grocery store, clinic, pre-school, pharmacy, hair salon, or the library. Hiawathaland transit will transport individuals anywhere within the city limits and up to two miles outside the city limits. There are also several routes between communities. For example, there is a bus that goes between Plainview and Wabasha daily.

Hiawathaland Transit operates a curb-to-curb service. Individuals who request a ride will have a bus dispatched directly to the curb outside their residence and will be taken to the curb outside of their destination. Drivers are not able to assist passengers into businesses and homes. However, the transit service does make allowances for passenger aides. If a passenger requires the assistance of an aide, Hiawathaland Transit will let the aide ride for free. There are also two established regular routes in the city of Red Wing.

The fleet consists of buses that all have two wheel chair positions and up to 28 stationary seats. Drivers are trained to operate wheelchair lifts and devices. In addition, all drivers have thorough criminal and driving background checks, have a Class A or B driver's license, First Aid/CPR certification, and defensive driving and passenger assistance training.

Hours of operation in our service areas are:
Lake City/Frontenac	8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Zumbrota/Mazeppa	9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Plainview/Elgin	7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Wabasha/Kellogg	7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Cannon Falls/Randolph	7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Red Wing	6:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.

The fare to ride the bus varies in each community ranging from $1.25 to $1.75. Rides between service areas for a one-way trip are $3.50. Punch passes and tokens can be purchased at local city halls.

Please have correct change available when boarding the bus. Drivers cannot make change.

To schedule a ride, individuals are to call Hiawathaland Transit's toll free number of 1-866-623-7505. Individuals are served on a first come, first serve basis. Therefore, it is recommended that individuals reserve their trip 24 hours in advance. Individuals needing wheelchair accommodations should indicate this to the dispatcher when scheduling his/her trip.
