Bilingual Head Start Coordinator
Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program focusing on child development that serves
children 3 & 4 years of age and their families. Head Start establishes
relationships that promote growth and development in young children and
encourages the self-sufficiency of families. The program is family
centered and designed to foster parent's role as the principle
influence on their child's development and to assist families
in developing and achieving self-reliance. Head Start's approach
to service includes: Health, Nutrition, Education, Parent Involvement,
Social Services, Mental Health and Disabilities.
Options:
Three Rivers Community Action Head Start offers the following
program option:
- Center base option: The center base option provides a
minimum of 128 socialization days, two home visits and two conferences
each year from September through May. The center base program meets
four days per week 3.5 hours per day. Lunch and either breakfast or
a snack are provided.
The center base option is licensed under Minnesota Rule #3. This option
is offered at all of our sites, Northfield, Faribault, Zumbrota,
Red Wing and Wabasha.
Transportation may be provided for your child, depending on where you
live or your childcare is located.
Eligibility/Guidelines: We encourage all interested families to
apply. The program is designed for families with low incomes.
Ninety (90) percent of enrolled families must have incomes at
or below the Federal Income Guidelines:

When submitting your application be sure to include documentation of your income.
We consider gross income from the twelve months immediately preceding the
month in which the application is made, or the calendar year immediately
preceding the calendar year in which the application is made.
Income documentation may include, but is not limited to:
- Federal income tax form
- W-2 form
- Unemployment compensation
- Child Support / Alimony
- MFIP or other public assistance
- SSI
- Pay stubs
