Without the services of Three Rivers Community Action, many people would go unserved. With the ever-widening disparity between the rich and poor, it is apparent that the agency's services are desperately needed. It is absolutely vital that Community Action Agencies continue to thrive in the community so that voices of low-income citizens can continue to be heard. Three Rivers ensures that low-income voices are heard through their representation on the agency Board of Directors, Head Start Policy Council and various other advisory committees and task forces.
Executive director Mike Thorsteinson devotes a significant portion of his time doing advocacy work on behalf of Three Rivers' clients, the state and national Community Action networks, and nonprofits in general.
